Madrid, I Will Always Love you

Dear Madrid,

I’m writing to you with a little pinch in my heart, a small happy tear and a big thank you kiss… Thank you for the souvenirs accumulated here, for the long parties, the kilos gained, the prayers pronounced, for the kisses I received, the ones I gave, the smiles I’ve seen, the laughter’s I’ll never forget and the tears I dropped… but most importantly Thank you for the people I’ve met and the souvenirs I take with me everywhere I go…

I’m in the room getting ready to leave you once again to discover new places, tell your stories, practice your language and to dream of coming again with the same people and that same willingness to remember every detail of your heart.

It’s true two years have passed since we last partied together… it’s also true Claudia did not dance the gimpy dance, Farah didn’t score anything, Sebi did not teach me new stuff, Carlos did not introduce me to new places and the Dominicans did not laugh in my ears. But what is also true is that I thought of Leti so many times, and smiled at every corner remembering all the people I love and miss.

So, for you dear friends, that did not share this small trip with me I’d like you recommend: Bar Tomate for dinner, Luzi Bonbon for lunch, Mercado San Anton at anytime, the new Lateral, in castellana 42, Circulo de las bellas artes for coffe, Club 74, Snobissimo and Liberata for parties. And btw, Laidy Pepa, 69 Petalos, and Hotel Puerta America are still as fun.

And for those of you that shared with me this trip, I’d like to first thank Khalil for organizing the whole thing, and each and every one of you for participating in making this trip an unforgettable one.

I left a thousand smiles and two USBs hanging around in Madrid for those that want all the pictures.

Tenderly yours,

Soraya
